Sussex Martyrs Commemoration Council
In memory of 36 Protestant martyrs burned alive. 36 Martyrs lived within Sussex, 17 of those Martyrs were burnt at Lewes, 19 being burnt elsewhere. 10 of the 17 Martyrs burnt at Lewes were held in the vault of Lewes Town Hall the night before.
