ABLE Project
- Delivers time limited, school based support to vunerable children 5-11 who have been referred to the project.
- The most widely accessed support program offers a holistic assessment of the child’s needs so objectives can be set to support him or her in reaching their potential. In particular children are supported to: improve their school attendance and attainment; reduce the number of school exclusions and their likelihood of becoming involved in crime; reduce the risk of becoming socially excluded; access health and other local services.
Link workers give practical advice and support in a number of ways: advising on local services (health, education, finance, relationships, housing, support groups, etc); support with improving parenting skills; advising on managing and understanding children’s behaviour.
