AIMS International Music School (AIMS)

  • Annual all-singing one week summer school for solo and choral singers and accompanists at Eastbourne College, Eastbourne, Sussex, from August 21st - 28th 2011.
  • Annual all-singing one week summer school for solo and choral singers and accompanists at Eastbourne College, Eastbourne, Sussex, from August 21st - 28th 2011. Choral courses in 2011 will concentrate on works featuring King David: such as Honegger's 'King David' and Handel's 'Saul'. There will also be classes of Madrigals, Partsongs, and lighter choral works.
    For solo singers there will be 6 staged Opera scenes, a Cabaret Course, Music Theatre course, Parlour Music, and a Gilbert and Sullivan Course, as well as individual coaching in Artsong, Opera and Oratorio arias.
    There will be visits by internationally known singers to give Recitals and Masterclasses, including Ian Partridge and Sarah Walker.
    The opening Gala Recital on Sunday 21st August will be given by soprano Joan Rodgers, accompanied by Roger Vignoles.
    The singing classes will be taken by a renowned group of 24 Singing Professors and 24 House-pianists. There will be sung services of Compline and Holy Communion in Chapel; and several relaxing evenings including a Karaoke and Quiz-night.
