Baby and Child First Aid

  • Learn life saving first aid taught by experieced paediatric nurses. Classes in across SSussex, Surrey and London.
  • This course will teach you the emergency life saving techniques you will need if your baby or child stops breathing, becomes unconscious or is choking. It will also cover first responder actions to common accidents, illnesses and injuries.

    This course will cover:
    How to do basic life support including mouth to mouth and cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR)
    How to deal with choking in a baby, child or adult
    The recovery position
    Basic Life support on babies, children and adults.
    Accident prevention with young children

    It will also cover how to manage:
    Burns and Scalds
    Poisoning
    Ingestion
    Foreign Objects
    Head Injuries
    Febrile Convulsions and Fits
    Recognising Meningitis
    Essential information about safety in the home and garden

    Duration: 2 3/4 - 3 hours

    The courses are specifically designed to teach parents basic life saving and first aid techniques. These are 2-3 hour sessions that can be run for up to 8 participants. Courses are available at set venues across Sussex or can be arranged in your own home in the Sussex and wider area.
