Brede Steam Engine Society (BSES)

  • A Charity committed to the restoration of heritage water pumping engines and artifacts
  • The Society is dedicated to the restoration of magnificent triple expansion steam water pumping engines housed in listed buildings dating from 1904 and 1940 and housed in listed buildings of Baroque and Art Deco styles of the 1900s and 1930s. The collection also comprises electrical and diesel pumping equipment. Open 10.00-16.00 on the First Saturday of every month and every Bank Holiday Monday. Free Entry.

  • The majority of the display areas are on the level, including The Tangye Tea Bar. We regret however that the engine basements are only accessible via stairs, and the toilets only accessible via a short flight of steps.
