CCHF All About Kids
- We provide a range of residential activity and respite breaks and on-going contact and support that allows children aged 7-11 to escape the traumas of their everyday life and simply become children again.
- CCHF All About Kids exists to give disadvantaged children a range of residential activity and respite breaks with ongoing contact. We improve the quality of children's lives and help them to recognise their potential in a safe and happy environment.
We are currently recruiting enthusiastic and energetic volunteers to inspire and motivate children aged 7-11 while they are on holiday. Staying at our residential centre in Sussex, volunteers will work as part of an experienced team, led by paid leaders, to help with excursions and activities for disadvantaged and underprivileged children. Activities may include beach trips, country walks, and bike rides, cooking, pond dipping, treasure hunts, football, swimming, and arts and crafts.
We also provide specialist breaks for children with specific needs;
• Severe poverty
• Domestic violence
• Alcohol and drug abuse
• Physical, emotional, neglect and sexual abuse
• Dangerous environments and neighbourhoods
• School exclusion
• Social isolation
• Victims and perpetrators of bullying
• Low self-esteem
• Young carers
• Family illness
Holidays take place throughout the school breaks and last for 5 nights. Weekend breaks are also available during term time, lasting from Friday to Sunday. As a volunteer, you will be responsible for up to 4 - 6 children, ensuring they have a good time and their needs are met; supervising activities, listening to problems and providing pastoral care.
Volunteers are required to attend an interview and residential training day and successfully complete an enhanced Criminal Record Bureau check in accordance with relevant Child Protection legislation. We pay up to £30 of expenses, and meals and accommodation are also provided.

A quote below from one of our current volunteers:
‘Volunteering was an awesome experience, I worked with some fantastic people and met children; who despite their tough backgrounds were able to forget all their troubles and just be children again. It is exhausting, and it can be challenging, but it is immensely rewarding. I would recommend the experience to anyone – and not just for the look on a child’s face when they see the sea for the first time!’ KJ - Volunteer
