Etchingham & Fontridge Cricket Club

  • Etchingham & Fontridge Cricket Cricket Club was re-established in 2006, using the original name of the Club that last played in the village in 1939.
  • Etchingham had a thriving Cricket Club up until 1939, when the outbreak of the second world war brought play to an end. After the war the cricket field was not brought back into use and the team did not get back together, over 60 years later a group of keen players have restarted the club. The newly formed Club played a number of matches, with varying degrees of success, during 2006. In the 2007 season, the club has a full diary of fixtures, all matches are currently away fixtures, because the club has not yet been able to secure a suitable Cricket Pitch in the village. It is hoped that in the not too distant future the village will once again have a ground for the team to play on.
