Lewes Links
- To sustain links and promote better understanding of central and eastern Europe.
- Lewes Links was founded in 1992 at the initiative of the Mayor of Lewes, to forge personal, cultural and professional links in Central and Eastern European countries. Activities continued for some 12 years. Following the accession to the EU of the central European states in May 2004, Lewes Links passed its assets to the Sussex branch of the European Movement.
The website archive recalls the activities of Lewes Links over more than 10 years, and has a brief description of the town of Lewes in seven central & eastern European languages.
Recent News and topical background information from central and eastern Europe, and a What’s On page for cultural events, are now found on the Sussex in Europe website, The website also includes a page for the Sussex Russian Society which normally meets monthly in Lewes, and links to local Hungarian and Polish societies.
