Register your interest in fostering a child
- Foster care gives a home with a family to a child or young person who cannot live with their own family. Even though the foster carer looks after a child in the carer’s own home, the child’s own parents usually stay in touch with them and have some responsibilities towards them. This is different from adoption, where the birth parents give up their legal rights over their child and are not entitled to see them again or have them back.
