Sussex U3A Network (SUN)
- The Network offers support to U3As and arranges a programme of Study Days and Away Days on a variety of subjects in venues across the whole of the Sussex U3A Network.
- No qualifications are required to join, and we do not award qualifications or degrees. Members are encouraged to value and take pleasure in learning for its own sake.
U3A defines “third age” as coming after full-time employment usually with retirement and senior citizen status, but U3A does not specify any minimum age for membership.
Typically U3A will offer a range of learning activities from languages to archaeological and philosophical studies and from art and craft groups to music appreciation and creative writing. Leadership comes from the members themselves. Interest groups are often quite small with meetings taking place in members’ homes. Costs are kept as low as possible so that members can take part in as many groups as they wish.
