Trading Standards Service
- East Sussex County Council.
- Trading Standards provides for informed, confident consumers; informed, successful businesses and the enforcement of a fair and safe trading environment whilst being an efficient, and improving service. The service offers free consumer advice via Consumer Direct (see link below) and free compliance advice to local businesses.
An Approved Trader Scheme is in place to provide residents access to lists of good, reliable tradespersons (see www.eastsussex.gov.uk/buywithconfidence for details of members or details on how to join).
Support with Confidence is a new initiative jointly launched by ESCC Trading Standards & Adult Social Care. The scheme launched to accept applications from Care & Support providers in April 2010 and is due to go live to service users in October 2010.
