Hastings is situated on the coast 24 miles to the east of the county town of Lewes and 53 miles south east of London.
Hastings is best known for the Battle 1066, where William defeated Harold on the 14th of October. It also has the largest beach based fishing fleet in England. Hastings is home to a number of cultural events including chess and running.
