Dyslexia East Sussex

Dyslexia East Sussex are a specialist provider based in the county of East Sussex, offering services to children, young people and families who are experiencing difficulties with reading, writing and spelling — and who may have (or suspect they have) dyslexia.

• Screeners: Short but comprehensive assessment of potential dyslexic traits
• 'Strengths and Recommendations' assessments: A detailed look at younger pupils' learner profile (6-8 years)
• Diagnostic assessments: A detailed evaluation to understand whether dyslexia (or another specific learning difficulty) is present, including strengths and areas of challenge.
• Exam access arrangements guidance: Their reports support applications for adjustments (such as additional time) in exams.
• Support for schools and families: They offer dyslexia-friendly strategies, advice on literacy difficulties, and help navigating learning support.

Why it matters

Dyslexia is a life‐long learning difference affecting reading, spelling, written expression and sometimes working memory or organisation. It occurs across the full range of intellectual ability and is not linked to low intelligence.
