In addition to providing the SENDIASS service https://www.escis.org.uk/amaze-sendiass-east-sussex/ for East Sussex and Brighton & Hove, Amaze also offers a range of other services to families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities across Sussex.
Publications and website – including a termly newsletter; 40+ downloadable fact sheets about specific conditions or issues that face children with additional needs and their families; jargon buster and SEND news and events.
Help with claiming DLA & PIP – Amaze SENDIASS advisers can give you practical advice about making a claim for DLA or PIP or you can attend one of our regular workshops about claiming disability benefits in East Sussex. Amaze is developing a pilot project with Citizen’s Advice Hastings to provide more targeted advice for those families who may need extra support to make a successful claim.

Workshops and courses – designed to provide parents and carers with practical ideas and strategies for supporting children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities. Previous courses have covered topics such as SEN support, EHC plans, Preparing for Adulthood, Wills and Trusts, Claiming DLA and Claiming PIP. Amazing Futures Peer Support for young people with SEND – The Amazing Futures Project trains young volunteers with and without additional needs to provide peer support to disabled young people aged 14-25, helping young people to build their confidence, widen their social networks and improve their employment prospects as they move into adulthood. Peer support may be delivered one-to-one or in groups and the project also offers accessible information resources and workshops for disabled young people.
