Burgess Hill Shed and The Kiln Community Arts and Crafts Workshops
Craft workshops and resources for people in and around Burgess Hill who need a workplace, equipment and help to pursue their own projects and hobbies or wish to join others and work on community-based projects. Our workshops are stimulating environments for pursuing worthwhile activity, socialising, and sharing interests and experiences. They are large, well-lit spaces equipped with a range of traditional and modern equipment ideally suited to craft activities.
We endeavour to support any craft or hobby of interest to members. Members make whatever they like. No previous experience needed as help always on hand. Tools and materials provided. Currently, member interests include a range of crafts such as cabinet making, joinery, wood carving, turning, metalwork and modelling, leatherworking, upholstery, pottery and ceramics, needlecrafts, card crafts and many others.
In our workshops, members work alongside others. They decide which projects and activities to do and often work together to improve and maintain the workshops or help community groups.
We have 2 venues: a large workshop on Victoria Industrial Estate in Burgess Hill, and The Kiln in the Town Centre. Information about each workshop can be found via our websites: www.bhshed.org.uk and www.thekiln.org.uk or please contact us.
