Description
Jubilee Library Speaking Volumes Exhibition for World Aids Day
24 November 2025 - 10 December 2025, during library opening hours
Speaking Volumes was an oral history and storytelling project which was recorded in 2013 and launched in 2014 at Jubilee Library. The aim of the project was to give people living with HIV a voice, and allow the public to hear their stories, with the aim of increasing understanding and reducing HIV stigma.
It tells the stories of people who are living with HIV, around half of whom chose to use their real name and an identifiable picture of themselves, while the rest remained anonymous. The recordings can be accessed at the exhibition via a QR code and are a unique snapshot in time in the lives of people living with HIV.
