Communities Against Exploitation, Bexhill

September 26 @ 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

The main aim of this workshop is for you/ your organisation to gain knowledge and understanding about modern and emerging crime types that seek to exploit people in vulnerable circumstances and how this manifests in our community. This workshop will help demystify some of the crime types that are often talked about and are often perceived not be taking place within some of our communities, such as Modern Slavery.

We know that Communities themselves can play a vital role in addressing crime and helping their local neighbourhoods to feel safer. As crime has evolved it has also become less visible and in many ways better organised but harder for local neighbourhoods to recognise and identify in order to report, raise with relevant agencies or to identify as a safeguarding issue.

This workshop will describe key vulnerabilities around individuals / groups who are more susceptible to organised criminals, who deploy various tactics to recruit and exploit them due to their vulnerabilities.

Please note that priority for attendance will be given to individuals and organisations living and working in the Rother area of East Sussex
