EYFS Conference : Engaging Children Creatively – Motivating Children to Learn
March 18 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm
Following his inspiring talk last year Neil Farmer is returning to East Sussex and will be focussing on boys, risk-taking and prerequisite skills for writing.
Neil Farmer, author of “Getting it Right for Boys” and “Getting it Right in Reception,” has a background in early years education as a nursery and reception class teacher, deputy head, advisory teacher, Foundation Stage consultant, head of early years and Ofsted inspector.
In the afternoon, we are pleased to welcome Dr Sam Wass, consultant psychologist from Channel 4’s “The Secret Life of 4/5/6 Year Olds”. Sam will be presenting on how childhood is changing and exploring the benefits of storytelling for young children.
This conference will provide opportunities to:
- develop practitioner knowledge and understanding of cognitive development in young children.
- explore good practice in creating an enabling environment that meets the needs of all children.
- network with early years practitioners from across the sector.
- To explore the benefits and challenges of storytelling.
- To understand the importance of creativity and physical development as prerequisites for writing.
- To recognise the importance of allowing children to manage their own risks.
