George Butterworth documentary film screening – St Leonards
A welcome return to East Sussex for the new George Butterworth portrait documentary, ALL MY LIFE’S BURIED HERE, the first time ever the compelling story of this young composer, folk song collector and dancer cut down in his prime on the Somme battlefield has been told on film.
Packed full of wonderful music, including Butterworth’s famous orchestral works like ‘The Banks of Green Willow’ and ‘Rhapsody, A Shropshire Lad’, as well as many folk songs including those Butterworth collected on his many trips into rural Sussex during the Edwardian folk revival before the Great War.
A sell-out hit at Lewes Depot earlier in the year, don’t miss out on the chance to see the film at the charming Kino in St Leonard’s.
Two shows: 3pm and 7.30pm, on Wednesday 26 June.
