Description
This course is suitable for adults aged 19+ who are interested in expressing their creativity and learning more about creative crafts.
In Eastbourne and Newhaven learners will cover wood whittling, willow weaving and eco based crafts using recycled materials.
On the Hastings course learners will work with the following materials: reclaimed wood, small sheet metal and recycled beach materials.
On this qualification course learners will:
- Explore and develop basic skills in craft
- Gain an underpinning knowledge of the craft process
- Produce a final piece of work and have the opportunity to display it to others.
- Gain a basis for progression into further study in craft-related areas
This is an 8 week course taking place as follows:

Dates: Tuesdays: 1st, 8th, 15th, 22nd October, 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th November 2024
Times: 10am to 3.30pm

Dates: Fridays: 27th September, 4th, 11th, 18th, 25th October, 8th, 15th, 22nd November 2024
Times: 10am to 3.30pm
Venue: East Sussex College, Marine Workshops, Railway Approach, Newhaven, BN9 0ER
Dates: Tuesdays 21st, 28th January, 4th, 11th, 25th February, 4th, 11th, 18th March 2025
Times: 10am to 3.30pm
Course fee: £286.00 - however if you are in receipt of any benefits or in receipt of a wage less than £25,000 (annual gross salary) you will be eligible to take this course for free.
After this course learners could progress on to a level 2 course such as Art & Design, Photography, Creative Craft or Employability
