BLUE REMEMBERED HILLS by Dennis Potter

Part hilarious part chilling; Dennis Potter’s modern classic Blue Remembered Hills is set during a seemingly endless summer afternoon in impoverished WW2 Forest of Dean.
The Children (all played by adults) expose harsh themes through their free-fall, wild and unrestrained play. Relationships mimicking the adult world highlight the casual cruelty of children and how thoughtless actions can result in tragedy.
“Shines out like a dangerous magnesium flame viewed close-up, without safety glasses” Peter Bradshaw, The Guardian
