Cancer Advocacy Service

This entry was last updated: 12th April, 2018

Our trained cancer advocates support people affected by cancer to help them resolve difficulties which may be cancer related or general life difficulties. Our advocates can:

  • help people ask for what they want and ensure their views are understood
  • access information and explain it
  • help explore options
  • support individuals to make their own informed choices
  • help individuals to access services and support

The Macmillan Impetus Cancer Advocacy Service provides independent advocacy to people who are 50 plus and adults with mental health problems (18 plus), adults with learning disabilities (18 plus), and adults with autism spectrum conditions, if they or a close friend or family member has been affected by cancer. The service is free to people living in Brighton & Hove.

Impetus is a Brighton and Hove charity.

Macmillan helps people who are affected by cancer. Not just patients, but carers and families too.
