Amaze is a charity that gives information, advice and support to families with children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities in East Sussex and Brighton & Hove.
Your child or young person does not need to have a formal diagnosis to get support from Amaze though some of our services have rules about who is eligible.
Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Information, Advice and Support Service (SENDIASS) offers detailed online information, regular free workshops and an advice line for one to one advice.
If you want to make a claim for Disability Living Allowance or Personal Independence Payment for a child or young person, Amaze can offer you advice and sometimes practical support, depending on your circumstances.
The ND Family Support Service is for families with children and young people under 25, before and after assessment for neurodevelopmental differences such as autism, ADHD and tics/Tourettes. We support families in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex.
Parent Groups and Befriending. Amaze offers peer support to parent carers through regular social groups, workshops, events and one to one befriending.
Amazing Futures is for young people with additional needs aged 14-25 in Brighton & Hove and East Sussex. It’s a youth-led project, connecting young people and empowering them to have a place where their voices are heard and valued, where they can be unapologetically themselves.
The Compass Card is a leisure discount card for 0 to 25 year olds with special educational needs or disabilities in Brighton & Hove.
Parent carers of Compass Card holders in Brighton & Hove automatically qualify for a Carers’ Card from Brighton & Hove City Council. The card offers saving and discounts on leisure and well-being activities across Brighton & Hove.
