asphaleia, by name, hopes to be a "place of safety" for every child accessing our services. We believe in the BIG potential of every child and young person - no matter the journey that leads them to our services, they have the right to feel valued, heard and supported towards a positive future.

Part of our internal mission is that children and young people's voices are heard and influence the shape and design of asphaleia services.

By creating opportunities for them to be involved in service development, we improve the experiences and outcomes for them and their peers.​

Founded in 1999 by David Cottrell, asphaleia provides a full package of services and wrap around support working with over 1000 children and young people across south east England every year.
