Description
What do you do with a broken toaster? Or with a bike when the wheel runs out of true? Or with a sweater full of moth holes? Bin it? No way! Chailey Repair Cafe comes to the rescue!
Chailey Repair Cafe part of a world-wide movement where volunteer experts repair things free of charge. Anyone can bring along broken items or clothing needing repair from home, and have a cuppa and a cake while they wait.
By promoting repairs, Chailey Repair Cafe helps reduce mountains of waste. Even things which practically have nothing wrong with them, and which could easily be used again after a simple repair are taken to the tip. Sadly, many people have forgotten that they can have things repaired. Chailey Repair Cafe changing all that!! We are also connecting neighbours with each other, as well as discovering that a lot of know-how and practical skills can be found close to home. Repairs can save money and resources, as well showing how much fun repairing things can be, and how easy it often is.
We are based at St Peter's Church, Chailey Green (on the A275) and are open on the second Saturday morning of each month from 10am 1pm.
You will also find Chailey Repair Cafe on Facebook.
