Forest Row Volunteer Medical Transport Scheme

Forest Row Volunteer Medical Transport Scheme offers clients lifts from their home to hospital, doctors, dentists, and other  medical appointments.

The service is available for patients at Ashdown Forest Health Centre and/or residents of Forest Row Parish and Ashurst Wood to enable them to attend medical appointments, essentially covering most of Sussex, Surrey and Kent.

One of our DBS checked volunteer drivers will pick you up from your home and take you to your appointment, they will wait for you and then return you to your home.

The charge for this service will be 45p per mile which will be worked out accurately by your driver. There will also be a £1 administration charge to cover the cost of stationery and telephone charges. There is a minimum expense of £3 to cover the drivers costs. You can also leave an additional voluntary donation to help the scheme sustain itself in the longer term.

If the driver is expected to last more for more than 2 hours, another driver will be needed for the return journey and the cost involved.
