50 years ago, our founders met a communication need with the technology of the day. They ran a club in Reigate for people who were blind or vision impaired but could not communicate with many of their members because they could not afford to have a telephone. They came up with the idea of providing telephone lines for club members and Telephones for the Blind was born. We are still currently providing landlines for over 100 people throughout the UK.
Over the last few years, we have expanded our offering to include smart phones adapted for people who are blind and vision impaired and broadband provision to enable the use of applications such as Skype, Facetime and WhatsApp. We plan to move on to providing AI devices such as Amazon and Google smart devices.
