Description
Family hubs are your one-stop shop for advice, guidance and services for families 0-19 in East Sussex and up to 25 for young people with special educational needs and disabilities.
Families visiting the Hubs can get support and advice from midwives, health visitors, early communications support workers, early years practitioners and more.
Your Health Visitor will support you from pregnancy until your child is school age. They can provide advice and guidance on all aspects of parenting, from breastfeeding to child development.
Early Help Keyworker Service If you need more intensive support, your Health Visitor can refer you to the Early Help Keyworker Service. Your keyworker will work with you to develop a plan to address your family's needs. This may include providing practical support, such as help with accessing housing or benefits, or emotional support, such as parenting advice or counselling.
Parenting courses in East Sussex The Parenting Team offers free courses for parents and caregivers of children and young people aged 0 to 19. These courses can help you develop your parenting skills and knowledge, and learn how to deal with common challenges, such as behaviour management and sibling rivalry.
Young People The Youth team delivers sessions for young people across East Sussex, covering a range of topics, such as mental health, sex and relationships, and substance misuse. These sessions can help young people to develop the skills and knowledge they need to make healthy choices and live positive lives.
Groups, courses, and activities Family Hubs offer a range of free groups, courses, and activities for parents, caregivers, and children aged 0 to 5. These can be a great way to meet other parents, learn new skills, and have fun with your child.
Parent & infant mental health Family Hubs also offer mental and emotional health support for parents and infants. This can include advice on building a strong relationship with your baby, as well as support for parents who are struggling with their own mental health.
Volunteer with Family Hubs If you are interested in volunteering with a Family Hub, you can contact your local hub directly. This is a great way to learn new skills, meet people, and give something back to your community.
Start4Life Start4Life (or Start for Life) is a government-funded campaign that offers a range of support and services throughout pregnancy. This includes information on healthy eating and lifestyle, as well as advice on what to expect during pregnancy and birth.
