Possability People's Get Set Opening Doors project launched in Hastings in March 2023. It is designed to support disabled people and anyone with a long-term health condition or impairment (including mental health) move back into or to find work with ongoing long term support, alongside a range of courses.
Participants don’t have to be in receipt of benefits – Get Set Opening Doors will allow us to broaden the support we offer to also reach those who are economically inactive.
We provide a welcoming, friendly environment and ‘safe space’ where we encourage each individual to fulfil their potential and move forward in a way and at a pace which is comfortable for them. We enable them to take the first step on their journey to employment and we are there each step of the way to offer continued support to enable our participants to reach their goals.
As well as moving into employment, our holistic approach also enables people to become re-engaged in their local community, overcome social isolation and have hope for their future. The Get Set team will get to know the individual and the support they need, enabling them to move forward and achieve their goals. And we’ll be with them every step of the way.
We also work with our participants and their employers to offer ‘in work’ support for both parties - this not only gives participants confidence, but also for the employer, provides them with confidence and support in supporting employees with long-term health conditions in the workplace.
We can accept referrals by phone or email or direct from someone that may be interested in engaging with the project.
