Denton Island Community Centre is the spacious and welcoming base for a wide range of projects and services in Newhaven including Denton Island Nursery.
The Community Centre is located on Denton Island in Newhaven, it is a place where members of the community can come together as a group to enjoy group activities, social support, public information and many other purposes that will enrich the lives of the local community.
Services that currently run from the Community Centre include I Rock, Community Midwife, Child Health Clinics and family activities.
With rooms for hire at competitive rates, it can be a venue for your events or activities too.
We offer excellent value rooms to book in Newhaven at our bright and spacious community centre. Room sizes range from small counselling/meeting spaces to our largest room ideal for a larger community group or for a training room.
The community garden is also available if you require an outside space, with raised beds and a calming summer house taking pride of place.
The Community Kitchen is Food Hygiene standards registered and is also available to hire to community members/groups or businesses.
Our sensory room is a great space to explore and relax in and is available to hire for individuals or small groups. All are welcome to book.
Denton Island Community Centre has baby changing facilities and a buggy store. We are fully Disability Discrimination Act compliant with easy building access for all and a private, free car park which can be used by visitors.
SCDA are particularly interested in supporting community and voluntary groups/individuals including charities that support residents of Newhaven. If you have an idea for a new group or are looking to move your service to Denton Island Community Centre, please contact us to discuss discounts and project support.
