Accessibility
We are not completely accessible as there is a shallow slope and small steps leading to our workshop. However, wheelchair access can be gained through the Hillcrest building itself.
The Wood Creatives is all about being creative with wood. Our members enjoy wood carving, wood turning, making and repairing furniture and other woody things like walking sticks and garden dibbers.
Where: The Hillcrest Centre, Bay Vue Road, Newhaven. Our workshop is in the last white building behind the Hillcrest main hall. We are also on Facebook at Wood Creatives Newhaven.
When: Mondays and Thursdays from 09:30 until 15:30 and Tuesdays (mainly wood turning including teaching) 09:30 to 12:30. We also meet on Thursday evenings from 6.30 until 8.30.
Who: Many of our members join with little or no knowledge of carving, turning or working with wood. Our helpful members gladly help people get started.
How: Our workshop is well equipped with woodworking machines and we also have a fine selection of hand tools which members can borrow.
