Founded in 1960, our aim is to stimulate community interest in the beauty, history and character of Hove and its surroundings. We encourage high standards of architecture, town planning and conservation, and monitor all new planning applications. Protecting the individuality of Hove within the wider city context is important to us, as is the maintenance and improvement of the environment for the benefit of all. Our current projects include the development of a Hove Plinth to showcase public art, and planting street trees. We arrange a varied programme of events throughout the year: visits to places of interest in the summer, and talks on a variety of subjects in the winter. A newsletter is sent to all members three times a year. Membership is open to all who are interested in Hove and who support the aims of the Society. Annual membership - £12 Single, £20 Joint. Non-members are welcome to all our lectures for a small entrance fee.
