Gardens: Sweeping lawns, secret doorways and beds filled with colour and fragrance. The gardens at Preston Manor are full of unexpected pleasures.
Entrance Hall: Fine furniture and family portraits greet visitors to Preston Manor, in a spacious Entrance Hall that was designed to make an impression.
Dining Room: A comfortable room for formal entertaining, Preston Manor’s Dining Room is classic and masculine in character, but with a quirky collection of ceramics to inspire conversation at the table.
Cleves Room: With its decorative walls and intriguing history, the Cleves Room is best known for a séance held there in the 1890s.
Drawing Room: Elegant French and English furniture, opulent, gilt-framed mirrors and views over the park. The Drawing Room at Preston Manor was a luxurious retreat for the Lady of the House.
Bedrooms: The private quarters of Charles and Ellen Thomas-Stanford were designed for comfort and relaxation, with mahogany furniture, traditional decorative touches and, of course, access for staff.
Servants Quarters: From the kitchen to the scullery, Preston Manor’s Servants’ Quarters reflect the reality of Victorian and Edwardian life ‘below stairs’, including some of the basic equipment available to domestic staff.
