Willingdon community hub library, is free and open to everyone.
It is a volunteer-run registered charity based at Coppice Avenue, Willingdon, operated by the local community since March 2019.
It is a place for you to work, read, explore, discover and learn in a friendly environment. Local unpaid volunteers will help you access the books, computers, printers . To borrow books you will need to register as a member, to join up please call in person.
Apart from being a lending library for books we have a number of Internet connected computers which members are welcome to use free of charge.
In addition to the library the hub has an eco garden for the benefit of local schools and the community.
Hiring our space
The library needs to raise funds for books and equipment. Local groups can hire the facilities out of library hours, for educational and recreational activities, such as book groups, language and craft groups.
Monday to Saturday 5pm to 10pm
Sunday 9am to 8pm
It may be possible for a smaller section of the space to be hired during opening times, for small groups needing a 'quiet' space.
To discuss your needs please email [email protected].
Most of our books are on mobile display stands which can be pushed back to provide a large area for hire when the library itself is closed.
Costs for Hire £12 per hour or £6 per for Registered Charities.
Sunday: all day as above, (9am to 8pm)
