The Mount Camphill Community is a successful Independent residential Specialist College for students aged 16-25 with a range of learning disabilities. We have approximately 22 residential students with additional places for day students. The College is located on the outskirts of Wadhurst on the border of East Sussex and Kent, and the beautiful grounds and buildings have been sustainably developed by The Mount since 1970.
In this therapeutic community we offer a distinctive approach to education and support which provides for the social, emotional and spiritual development of young people with special needs through safe, shared community living and integration with wider communities.
Emphasis is placed on learning, living and working together: craft activities; arts; movement; therapies; and care for the land, help each student to reach his/her potential.
Every student is supported in their development towards greater social awareness, self-confidence and improved communication skills on their path to adulthood and independence. Students can acquire a range of accredited qualifications related to personal and social development, functional skills, life skills and work & workplace skills as part of their course at The Mount.
The Mount is regulated by the Care Quality Commission and Ofsted.
