Eleanor Henderson established Acupuncture South East in 2012. Prior to Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) acupuncture, Eleanor used to work in sports massage & lymphatic drainage massage, but after a car accident that smashed up her hand she wasn't left with enough strength to continue. She ended up having some acupuncture on herself to help, & within 3 sessions had nearly full movement back in her hand - the rest is history!
She studied acupuncture at the London College of Traditional Acupuncture & completed her degree with First Class Honors at the University of East London. She also studied & worked in China obtaining a Certificate in Clinical Practice from the University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Nanjing, China.
She is a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC), a voluntary register that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care (PSA). This Accredited Voluntary Registration scheme was set up by the government to improve standards & safety for the benefit of the public & demonstrates her commitment to high professional standards, to enhancing safety & delivering a better service. She is covered by full public indemnity & liability insurance.
More recently, she has become increasingly interested in combining Functional Medicine into her practice to enable a more rounded understanding of health. Qualifying to become a practitioner of Functional Diagnostic Nutrition. Functional lab work helps to identify malfunctions & potential healing opportunities at a subclinical (or, pre-disease) level within the body from internal chemical/biochemical hidden stressors in the hormone, immune, digestion, detoxification, energy & nervous systems.
