An Evening with Olly Smith: Death by Noir
Lewes Library, Monday 2 November 2026, 6:30pm - 8:00pm
Join us at Lewes Library for an entertaining evening with the UK's best loved wine expert and novelist, Olly Smith (BBC Saturday Kitchen). Olly will be talking about his sparkling debut novel Death by Noir, a warm, witty crime set right here in Lewes and the surrounding Sussex countryside. In this charming mystery, wine merchant Barclay Flint can taste a whole universe in a single glass, but when a vineyard owner is found dead, he must use his extraordinary palate to clear his name before Bonfire Night ignites more than just fireworks.
Blending storytelling, humour and a passion for wine, this special evening invites you into Olly's world with a reading, conversation, Q&A and book signing.
Suitable for ages 16 and over. Free but booking is essential, book here
This event will take place on the ground floor. We are unable to provide refreshments but you are welcome to bring your own non-alcoholic drink. Doors open 6.10pm for a 6.30pm start. The event will finish at 7.30pm. There will then be the opportunity to buy copies of Olly's Book and have them signed.
