Description

Wonder: A Haiku Poetry Workshop with Olivia Sprinkel

03 Oct 2026 - 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM, Library Lewes

Join Olivia Sprinkel at Lewes Library for a Haiku poetry writing workshop celebrating the wonder of nature.   The workshop will include a 30 minute visit to the Railway Land Nature Reserve, located a very short distance from the library (weather permitting).  The visit will be used as a inspiring starting point for writing. A haiku is a three-line Japanese form of poetry and the workshop will include an explanation of haikus - no prior knowledge of haikus or writing experience is needed.

Please bring appropriate footwear and clothing for the walk.  Ground surfaces are likely to be uneven and may be muddy.  A change of shoes for in the library would be appreciated.

You are welcome to bring your own writing materials, but a pen and paper can be provided.

Free but booking is essential. Book here

Suitable for ages 16 +

The workshop will take place on the first floor. Lift access is available. We are unable to provide refreshments but you are welcome to bring your own.
